The 1977 Z650 was the first year of the North American KZ650 line, with cast alloy wheels and disc brakes on the C-series. It shared the 652 cc DOHC four of the 1976 bike and remained a strong, durable middleweight. Its handling and power delivery were the main points of praise in period road tests.
